Abstract

Domestic violence is a widespread phenomenon that often occurs in society with the rate of cases increasing every year. This research has a background in the phenomenon of domestic violence and receiving assistance in (BPRSW) Yogyakarta. One of the services provided at BPRSW is individual counseling, with the implementation of individual counseling it is hoped that it can help victims overcome their problems, reduce trauma and anxiety in victims so they can live a new, better life. This research aims to determine the individual counseling process for overcoming trauma in victims of domestic violence at BPRSW Yogyakarta. This research uses a qualitative field research approach where data analysis is explained in descriptive form. The result of this research is that the counseling process goes through 3 stages, namely the initial stage, the middle stage (core), and the final stage.
