Abstract

The implementation of zakat is a manifestation of compliance and obedience to religious teachings for Muslims. The Indonesian government has also authorized BAZNAS as a management body so that the utilization of zakat can be done optimally. Although BAZNAS still has problems regarding the management and allocation of zakat funds, the number of BAZNAS muzakki continues to increase significantly every year so that the behavior of muzakki raises questions about what factors affect the behavior of muzakki in giving zakat at BAZNAS. Analysis and drawing conclusions in this study were carried out based on 214 respondent data selected according to certain criteria. The data analysis method in this study uses the SEM-PLS method using smartPLS and shows the results that education, income, zakat justice, peer influence, zakat morals, and religiosity have a direct positive effect on zakat compliance. Meanwhile, trust in institutions is able to moderate the influence of education, income, zakat justice, peer influence, zakat morality, and religiosity on zakat compliance. These results also provide support for the theory, especially in the context of religious compliance such as zakat.
