Abstract

This study examines the relationship between Young Mothers' Knowledge about Complementary Feeding and the Nutritional Status of Toddlers in the Kokap I and Kokap II Health Centers, Kulon Progo Regency. Children are the next generation of the nation who will build the country into a better nation in the future. Therefore, it is very important to pay attention to children's health, especially nutrition. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between young mothers' knowledge about Complementary Feeding and the nutritional status of toddlers. Using a quantitative method with a correlational design, the study involved 67 young mothers who were randomly selected in the Kokap I and Kokap II Health Centers. Data were collected through a Guttman scale questionnaire to measure young mothers' knowledge of MPASI and nutritional status data from e-PPGBM obtained from the Kokap I and Kokap II Health Centers. Based on the results of the Chi-Square correlation test, there is no relationship between young mothers' knowledge of MPASI and the nutritional status of toddlers. This is indicated by a p-value of 0.824 which is greater than the significance level of 0.05. However, it should be noted that in this study, mothers did not fully implement MPASI in children, there are other factors that affect children's nutritional status. This finding underlines the importance of considering other factors such as parenting patterns, economic conditions, exclusive breastfeeding, environmental sanitation, and history of infectious diseases in toddlers.
