Abstract

The background of this research arises by the academic concern of the researcher about the assumption of the influence of Instagram social media and the campus environment in the religious life of students, especially in the aspect of prayer services. In 2024, the world is faced with increasingly sophisticated technology that makes an addiction of playing the Instagram social media for the students, which certainly has an influence on the quality of prayers services. Not only on Instagram, it turns out that social interactions on campus also have an influence on the quality of student‟s prayer. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of Instagram social media and the campus environment on the quality of prayer service for Islamic Religious Education master‟s students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Class of 2022/2023 Even Semester. This research is a type of field research using mixed method (quantitative and qualitative). The location used in this research is UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The subjects used in this research were all Masters Students in Islamic Religious Education at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Data collection uses questionnaires and interviews, observation and documentation. The validity test used in this research is product moment correlation, while the reliability test used in this research is the Cronbach‟s alpha technique. Data analysis user correlation, coefficient of determination, F test, and T test. The results of this research are: 1) there is an influence of Instagram social media on the prayer practice of Islamic Religious Education master's students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Even Semester Class 2022/2023, amounting to 16,4%, 2) there is an influence of the campus environment on the prayer practice of master's students Islamic Religious Education at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Even Semester Class 2022/2023, amounting to 94,9%, 3) there is an influence of social media Instagram and the campus environment on the prayer practice of Islamic Religious Education master's students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Even Semester 2022/2023, amounting to 95,9%, 4) prayer practice of Islamic Religious Education master's students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Force Even Semester 2022/2023 is included in the very good category, normatively they understand the meaning and function of prayer, regularly perform performing fardhu prayers, there are also those who perform sunnah prayers, in fact they not only perform qouliyah and filiyah prayers, but they are also able to measure themselves and know how. to improve the quality of their worship and increase their faith when it is weak.
