Abstract
As an effort to preserve local culture, it is important to be introduced and taught to children from an early age. It aims to make children familiar with the culture around them. Snakes and ladders game media based on Jambi cultural local wisdom is packaged as interesting as possible to be used as a teaching alternative that is devoted to introducing local culture and cognitive development, especially introducing numbers to early childhood. The purpose of this research is to find out: (1) the development of snakes and ladders game learning media based on Jambi cultural local wisdom to stimulate early childhood cognitive development, (2) the feasibility of snakes and ladders game learning media based on Jambi cultural local wisdom to stimulate early childhood cognitive development, (3) the effectiveness of snakes and ladders game media based on Jambi cultural local wisdom to stimulate early childhood cognitive development. This research uses the type of Research and Development research, using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects in this study were group B2 students of RA Al-Fattah Jangga Baru with a total of 17 children. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The product validity test uses feasibility test and effectiveness test. The feasibility test product uses the NP formula. While the product effectiveness test uses a paired sample t-test with a one group pretest-posttest design model. The results showed that: (1) a product has been produced in the form of a snakes and ladders game learning media based on Jambi cultural local wisdom. (2) The media is said to be feasible based on the assessment of the media expert getting a score of 95%, the material expert assessment getting a score of 92%, the cultural expert assessment getting a score of 92%, and the teacher's response getting a score of 93%, and (3) The media is said to be effective as indicated by the T test using the help of SPSS 16 paired sample t-test model and getting a value of 0.000 which is less than 0.005 which means there is a difference between after and before the application of the media with an average of 85%, the conclusion is that the media is effective in stimulating children's cognitive development, especially in number recognition
