Abstract

This research aims to find out: 1) identify the conception of character education values of local wisdom of Maja Labo Dahu culture; 2) integrate the cultural values of Maja Labo Dahu applied with Civics subject matter grade V MIN Tolobali Kota Bima; 3) find effective strategies in integrating cultural values of Maja Labo Dahu with Civics subject matter grade V MIN Tolobali Kota Bima. This type of research uses qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The subjects of this research are fifth grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah di Kota Bima. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity checks use credibility, transferability, dependability, confirmability tests. Data analysis techniques used in this research are using domain analysis, taxonomy analysis, component analysis and cultural theme analysis. The results of this study are described as follows: 1) shows the philosophy of life of Maja Labo Dahu culture as an idea that arises from entities that exist in a Bima community cultural system, then agreed upon and used as a principle in living life in the family, school and community environment; 2) shows that the incorporation of Maja Labo Dahu values with Civics learning supports student character development while preserving and practicing regional cultural values; 3) the strategy used in learning the values of local wisdom of Maja Labo Dahu culture with Civics subject is by using the strategy of teaching knowledge about ethics or moral knowing, moral modeling strategy, strategy of fostering a sense of love for goodness or moral feeling and loving, moral acting strategy, traditional strategy or advice, strategy of giving punishment or punishment, and habituation strategy.
