Abstract
Dystopian fiction is a genre that is growing rapidly in Arabic literature in the 21st century. Dystopian fiction 2063 by Mu'taz Husanain, which tells the story of Egypt in 2063, it is full of depictions of control and resistance. The control that occurs over society in dystopian fiction is not only limited to the political aspect, but also extends to the mind and body. So this research describes how control operates and the resistance carried out by society to resist this control. This research is library research which uses qualitative descriptive methods. In this research, data was collected using listening and note taking techniques. Then the data is analyzed by reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Michel Foucault's theory related to power, they are power/knowledge and disciplinary power, is used to describe control and resistance in this research. The research results show that there are five ways to carry out control, they are; space restrictions by erecting walls in every corner of Egypt, restrictions on access to knowledge where books are prohibited items and the destruction of book collections in libraries, supervision by inspections, patrols and installing surveillance cameras, citizen satisfaction tests as an effort to eliminate individuals and avoiding rebellion so that power can continue, and the formation of discourse on this control so that. Then, there were also two forms of resistance which were carried out in the form of large scale demonstrations and rebellion by not obeying the rules that were made, then there was also the heaven community which helped anyone who wanted to escape as a symbol of optimism regarding the situation in Egypt at that time.
