Abstract

This thesis focuses on examining the short story collections al-Kabus by Najib al-Kailani. In this short story, Najib al-Kailaini describes the gender injustice. Gender injustice is one of the phenomena that still occurs today in society. The emergence of this problem has led to increasingly complicated power imbalance. The collection of short stories al-Kabus tells several stories with the theme of gender injustice in women. The method used is descriptive qualitative method with data sources taken from the collection of short stories al-Kabus by Najib al-Kailani which is sharpened from Simone de Beauvoir’s point of view. The results of this study show that gender injustice in the collection of short stories al-Kabus is represented through the author’s sentence quotations that show the marginalization, subordination, stereotypes, violence, and workload experienced by the main female character. This discovery is a criticism and antithesis to the view of society that positions women as secondary beings.
