Abstract

The ability to build a career can be honed through continuous education throughout the developmental stages of life, including adolescence. In this case, the purpose of this study is to find out, analyze, and describe the differences in career planning between students at Ali Maksum High School and Binatama Health Vocational School Yogyakarta in terms of education type. This study uses a quantitative approach that is comparative in nature. The career planning variable measuring instrument uses a scale based on Parsons' theory which totals 32 items. This research was conducted on grade XI students at Ali Maksum High School with saturated sampling technique with a sample of 59 students and grade XI students of Binatama Health Vocational School with simple random sampling technique with a sample of 54 students. The total sample in this study was 113 students. Data analysis techniques using Independent Sample T-Test on the SPSS program. The results showed that there was no significant difference in students' career planning in terms of the type of education in Yogyakarta, namely at Ali Maksum High School and Binatama Health Vocational School, Sig. 0,380 > 0,05. These supporting factors include gender, the role of counseling teachers, school environment, family support, and students' realistic understanding and reasoning about themselves and the world of work.
