Abstract

This study focusses on exploring the intention factors of Generation Z in Indonesia to invest in the Islamic capital market using a robo-advisor. The Technology-Organism-Environment (TOE) approach is adopted in this study to consider technological, individual, and environmental factors on Generation Z's intention. The total sample in this study reached 288 samples which were then explored using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results showed that in the technology construct, the most influential factor in driving intention was perceived value. In the organism construct, it is known that the most influential factor is innovativeness. While in the environment construct, it is known that there are two factors considered by Generation Z, including facilitating conditions and social influence. Finally, this study provides theoretical advice to adopt TOE in describing investment behavior and can consider several factors in this study. In addition, practical impacts are also suggested to relevant stakeholders.
