Abstract

Banking is one of the sectors that is very vulnerable to the impact of the economic crisis. Banks as a transmission of monetary policy and as a distributor of funds from fund suppliers to fund holders have an important role in maintaining economic stability, especially monetary. This study aims to examine the effect of economic growth, inflation, interest rates and exchange rates on bank resilience (ROA) regulatory quality as a moderating variable. This study uses quantitative methods with secondary data. The sample used is sharia bank in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia in 2009 - 2023. Data analysis using multiple regression analysis (time series) and moderation with Eviews12 software. The findings of this study indicate that economic growth and interest rates have a positive effect on bank resilience, exchange rates have a negative effect on bank resilience and inflation has no effect on bank resilience. Regulatory quality can strengthen the influence of economic growth, interest rates and exchange rates on bank resilience and regulatory quality cannot strengthen the influence of inflation on bank resilience. Based on the results of this study, it is expected to be a guide for Islamic banks to improve risk management strategies, especially in the face of global economic volatility and macroeconomic fluctuations.
