Abstract
Development is the main goal of every country, including Indonesia, which seeks to achieve prosperity through the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a country with a majority Muslim population, Indonesia also considers aspects of human development in an Islamic perspective as measured by the Islamic Human Development Index (IHDI), which reflects the achievement of welfare (falah). This study aims to analyze the effect of SDGs implementation in 2015-2030 period on human development in Islamic perspective (IHDI). The research uses quantitative methods with panel data that combines cross section and time series data from 34 provinces in Indonesia during the period 2016-2023. The independent variables used include poverty, food consumption, education, labor GDP, and inequality, with IHDI. The analysis shows that poverty has a negative and significant effect on IHDI, while food consumption and education have a positive and significant effect. Meanwhile, labor force growth does not show a significant effect on the IHDI, and does not show a negative effect. This study recommends the need to improve access and quality of education, as well as better food security programs to support the achievement of IHDI. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of sustainable development policies that are in line with the principles of maqashid sharia in the context of public welfare. The findings have an impact on the Indonesian government's policy in encouraging more effective implementation of the SDGs to improve IHDI and achieve sustainable and equitable human development based on Islamic values. This research contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of the relationship between SDGs and IHDI in the Indonesian context. Future research can expand the scope of variables and research period and consider other factors that may affect IHDI.
