Abstract
The lack of akhlakul karimah education in schools occurs due to adjustments to the times in students, so a solution is needed from the school to provide learning based on akhlakul karimah through curriculum policies. This research aims to describe the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMP Negeri 2 Banguntapan Bantul, which is expected to instill good morals in students through an educational approach based on the Merdeka Curriculum. In addition, this research will also discuss the limitations of the problem, including the implementation, strategies and impacts involved. To answer the problem formulation, researchers used appropriate research methodology. This research uses a qualitative research approach with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. Db ata analysis techniques are carried out by condensing data, displaying data, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the implementation of the independent curriculum in learning Islamic religious education in cultivating moral values at SMP Negeri 2 Banguntapan Bantul begins with creating teaching modules and then teaching modules into the learning process which is carried out through opening activities, core activities and closing activities while evaluating the implementation. The Merdeka Curriculum is reporting learning progress, learning evaluation and assessment. In this case, there are several strategies, namely providing in-depth understanding to teachers so they can apply it during the teaching and learning process. Developing creativity and innovation, developing soft skills, and fostering student independence. The implementation of this curriculum has impacts such as impacting the effectiveness of learning and students' morals. So that this application creates an impact such as increasing religious values in students. This can foster an interactive attitude so that it can strengthen character based on morals and morals by developing students' self-development as the goal of implementing the independent curriculum in the world of education.
