Abstract
Memorizing science concepts and knowledge is still a tendency in learning which results in a decrease in students' thinking skills. This is evident in students at MIN 3 Bantul who learn science by taking notes, memorizing, and completing tasks. The development of learning media based on dimensional visualization is expected to be able to answer these problems, with the aim of improving students' critical and creative thinking skills. The purpose of this study is to describe the process of developing dimensional visualization-based science learning media, describe its feasibility and describe its effectiveness in improving the critical and creative thinking skills of grade IV students. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires and tests. The subjects of this research were fourth grade students of MIN 3 Bantul This development uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data analysis techniques include qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. Qualitative descriptive analysis is used to analyze data from observations, interviews, documentation. Quantitative descriptive analysis is used to analyze data on the feasibility assessment of learning media, and test the effectiveness of learning media through preetest and posttest scores using paired sample t-test assisted by SPSS 25.0. The results of this study indicate that First, the learning media development process begins with creating a storyboard and collecting images through the freepik website. Furthermore, it is developed using Smart Aplication Creator software assisted by Canva Pro and Madibang. After the slides are finished, they are then formed into APK (Android Package File) format. Second, the learning media developed has been tested for feasibility by experts, practitioners as well as limited and broad trials with an average category that is very feasible to use. The learning media developed has been implemented at MIN 3 Bantul with four meetings. Third, the learning media proved effective in improving students' critical and creative thinking skills with the results of the paired sample t-test with a significance value of 0.003 <0.005 for students' critical thinking results and 0.000 <0.005 for students' creative thinking results. Based on the results of the N-Gain test, the effectiveness of the increase in the critical thinking aspect is 0.5736 or 57% and the effectiveness of the increase in the creative thinking aspect is 0.3950 or 39.5%. Thus the effectiveness of improvement in the aspects of critical and creative thinking of students is included in the moderate category.
