Abstract

This research aims to describe how the delivery of calistung learning is appropriate to the child's age and development. This type of research uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this research used (1) Interview, (2) Observation, (3) Documentation techniques. The data analysis methods used include (1) Data Reduction, (2) Data Presentation, (3) Drawing Conclusions. Apart from that, test the validity of the data using source triangulation. The research results show that parents' views on early childhood education are still misinterpreted. There are some parents who want their children who are still in kindergarten to master learning calistung before entering elementary school, because they are worried that their children will miss out on learning while in elementary school. However, parents' awareness is still lacking, namely their lack of involvement in the child's learning process, for example because they are tired at work and lack of knowledge so they do not have time to accompany their child's learning activities. Parents need to know that learning activities for early childhood are fun learning with learning methods that are suitable for early childhood and should not require children to be able to do calistung before their time. Apart from that, parental involvement in early childhood education is very necessary. Keywords: Parents, Early Childhood Education, Calistung, Fun Learning.
