Abstract
Notaries are public officials who are authorized to make authentic deeds and are responsible for the validity of the deeds. However, in practice, many notaries commit unlawful acts, such as fraud or forgery that result in losses for other parties. This study aims to analyze the Legal Consequences for Notaries Who Commit Unlawful Acts in Making Authentic Deeds. Based on Law Number 10 of 1999 concerning Notaries (UUJN), Notaries who commit violations can be subject to civil sanctions, including the obligation to compensate the injured party, in addition, unlawful acts can result in the deed being made being invalid or null and void by law. This type of research uses library research and field research, namely by collecting information and conducting direct observations through Notaries. The approach used in this thesis is empirical juridical. The theoretical framework used in this study is the theory of legal certainty from Gustav Radbruch and the theory of justice and the theory of legal responsibility from John Rawls. The results of this study indicate that sanctions against notaries are not only civil in nature, but can be administrative and criminal sanctions in accordance with applicable legal provisions. The results of the study were obtained First, the legal consequences for notaries who are proven to have committed unlawful acts in making authentic deeds include falsifying the deeds they made that are not in accordance with UUJN. Second, efforts that can be made so that notaries do not commit unlawful acts in making deeds are by holding seminars and other activities to update the knowledge and insight of notaries in the legal field, in addition to routinely conducting periodic supervision of the notary's position. Thus, it is important for notaries to comply with the code of ethics and laws and regulations in order to maintain the integrity of the profession and protect the interests of clients.
