Abstract

Good governance is an important principle in managing a government that aims to realize good governance conditions. The importance of applying the principles of good governance to create quality public services, improve the welfare of rural communities and strengthen good governance in order to create an ideal and clean village. The focus taken by researchers in this study is, How is the application of the principles of good governance in public services in the Masawah village government, Cimerak sub-district, Pangandaran district and How are the principles of good governance in the perspective of maslahah mursalah theory. This research is a type of empirical legal research, with the nature of descriptive-analytical research. The approach used in this research uses an empirical juridical approach, by collecting primary data obtained directly during field research. Sources of data on the implementation of village governance are based on field data and interviews. The results showed that the application of the principle of transparency made it easier for the community to access information on administrative services, such as making population papers in the form of identity cards (KTP), family cards (KK), birth certificates, and others. Accountability is realized through village government accountability in implementing public policies and services. Community participation still needs to be improved in the active involvement of the community, such as participating in channeling ideas and aspirations regarding the performance of the government in providing services in order to create quality public services in accordance with the principles of good governance.
