Abstract

This research is motivated by the massive practice of money politics in elections. The negative impact of money politics is prison sentences and fines, creating a corrupt government, destroying the nation‟s paradigm, and so on. In this context, the role of Bawaslu Bantul Regency is very important. The urgency of this research is to understand how effective the Bawaslu institution is in upholding election justice, as well as providing solutions to the practice of money politics which undermines the integrity of democracy. The problem in this research is the role of Bawaslu in preventing money politics in the 2024 legislative elections in Bantul Regency, and what is the perspective of siyasah fiqh on money politics in the 2024 legislative elections. The research in this thesis uses a field research method with a sociological juridical research approach. This research was conducted at the Bantul district Bawaslu office. Data collections techniques are interviews and documentation. The data sources used in this study were obtained from interviews with Bawaslu Bantul Regency and various literature related to this study. This study uses the theory of supervision and the theory of fiqh siyasah. The results of field research found that Bawaslu‟s role in preventing money politics in Bantul Regency basen on supervision theory was not optimal in carrying out its duties. From the perspective of fiqh siyasah, money politics is a practice that is haram in islam because it is contrary to the values of justice and the benefit of the people. And in islamic view, money politics is risywah or bribery.
