Abstract
Mathematics learning is currently facing challenges in the form of low understanding of mathematical concepts and mathematical growth mindset of students, as seen in students at one of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Yogyakarta. The low understanding of mathematics and the undeveloped mindset in solving these problems indicate the need for a solution. The purpose of research and development of Islamic character-based learning modules is expected to be able to provide solutions to these problems, with the aim of increasing conceptual understanding and mathematical growth mindset. This development uses the ADDIE (Analytics, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Qualitative and quantitative data were analyzed using Likert scale, validity and reliability tests and n-gain. The results of the research and development of this module, based on the validation of experts, have met the criteria for high validity. Validation of material experts obtained a percentage of scores of 93%, media experts by 91%, linguists by 95%. The results from the practitioners showed a very good level of practicality with a score percentage of 90%. Furthermore, the trial of the use of the module by peer review obtained a score percentage of 96%. The effectiveness test of this module showed an increase in students' conceptual understanding with an n-gain score of 0.71 (high category) and an achievement rate of 71% (quite effective category). The module also encourages changes in learners' mindsets towards their math abilities, with 31% showing a strong growth mindset, and 62% having a growth mindset with some fixed ideas. These results show that the Islamic character-based mathematics module in grade III fractional material at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah has valid, practical, and effective qualities.
