Abstract

The low entrepreneurial spirit of students and the lack of application of innovative learning models are challenges in education. 21st century education demands the development of students' entrepreneurial spirit through innovative learning. Project Based Learning (PjBL) is believed to be able to support this, especially if supported by strong entrepreneurial motivation. This study examines the effect of PjBL and entrepreneurial motivation on the entrepreneurial spirit and learning outcomes of IPAS students. The objectives of this study are to: (1) determine the simultaneous effect of PjBL model and collaborative learning on entrepreneurial spirit and IPAS learning outcomes, (2) determine the effect of PjBL model on entrepreneurial spirit, (3) determine the effect of PjBL model on IPAS learning outcomes, (4) test the interaction between PjBL model and entrepreneurial motivation on entrepreneurial spirit and IPAS learning outcomes, and (5) test the effect of entrepreneurial motivation on entrepreneurial spirit and IPAS learning outcomes. This research was conducted with a quasi-experimental design using the nonequivalent pretest-posttest method with two groups, namely the experimental group that applied the PjBL model and the control group that used collaborative learning. The results showed that there was a simultaneous influence between the application of the PjBL model on the entrepreneurial spirit and IPAS learning outcomes of students. However, individually, the PjBL model did not have a significant effect on the entrepreneurial spirit of students. In contrast, the PjBL model has a significant effect on improving IPAS learning outcomes. In addition, there was no significant interaction between the PjBL model and entrepreneurial motivation on entrepreneurial spirit or IPAS learning outcomes. However, entrepreneurial motivation showed a significant effect on both variables, where students with high entrepreneurial motivation had better entrepreneurial spirit and IPAS learning outcomes than students with low motivation.
