Abstract

This research is motivated by the development of adolescence which at the time of reaching its task found many emotional problems so that aggressive, impulsive behaviors appear, experiencing attention disorders such as lack of concentration, anxiety, and loss of expectations. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a relationship between religious coping and emotional regulation of assisted adolescents at BRSPA Yogyakarta. The higher the religious coping, the higher the ability of emotional regulation of assisted adolescents who are in BRSPA Yogyakarta. Respondents in this study amounted to 30 adolescents who were fostered at BRSPA Yogyakarta, male and female units in the age range of 12 - 18 years. The research sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. With this type of correlational quantitative research. Data collection techniques using two scales, namely the emotion regulation scale and the religious coping scale. Research data analysis using IBM SPSS 22 for Windows software assistance. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant relationship between religious coping and emotional regulation of assisted adolescents at BRSPA Yogyakarta with a correlational significance level of 0,106 (P> 0.05). This is because many other factors affect emotional regulation which are more influential, including age, gender, environment and experience, parenting and family involvement.
