Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of the window shopping type cooperative learning model on the activity and learning outcomes of class X students on the role material of virus in life at SMAN 1 Banjaran. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a Quasi-Experimental Design and using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design with two samples in the form of a control class (using the direct instruction learning model) and an experimental class (using the window shopping type cooperative learning model). The determination of the sample in this study used a purposive sampling technique based on the number and ability of students. Data collection on student activity used a questionnaire instrument and data on student learning outcomes used a test sheet instrument (pre-test and post-test). Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney U-Test for activity data and the t-test (independent sample t-test) for learning outcome data. The results of the research concluded: 1) There is no effect of the window shopping type cooperative learning model on student learning activities at SMAN 1 Banjaran. This is evidenced by the hypothesis test results of student activity using the Mann-Whitney U-Test which shows a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.287. This value is >α 0.05 so H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected. 2) There is no effect of the window shopping type cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes at SMAN 1 Banjaran. This is evidenced by the sig. value in the control class of 0.559 and in the experimental class of 0.127, where both show results >α 0.05, so H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected. This is also evidenced by the t-test results in the control class of 4.69 (t-table value of 2.023) and the t-test results in the experimental class of 6.792 (t-table value of 2.023), where the t-test results in both classes are > t-table value, so H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected.
