Abstract
Sex education is not only about biological knowledge, but also forms an individual's perspective in a broader social context. Unfortunately, it has received less attention in the world of education. Sexual-deviation is considered a behavior that deviates from certain norms, although the definition varies between community groups. Peers are one of the factors in influencing a person's understanding and sexual behavior, because they are often a source of information that is not obtained from the family. This study aims to determine the understanding of early adolescents and the process of providing sex education. To determine the extent of the influence of sex education and peer conformity on sexual-deviation. This type of research is a mixed methods study with an exploratory sequential design research design. Data in this study were taken by interview, observation, documentation and filling out questionnaires. The type of sample used is non-probability sampling. Data collection was carried out using the sexualdeviation questionnaire method, sex education questionnaire and peer conformity questionnaire. The data collection instrument was adapted from previous research and validated by expert validators. Data analysis includes descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study showed; 1) The lack of understanding of sex education in early adolescence is caused by curriculum limitations, cultural barriers, and lack of involvement of parents and professionals. 2) The process of providing sex education is still very limited due to limited coverage of materials, less interactive delivery methods, and social and cultural barriers. 3) The large influence of sex education on sexual-deviation with a significance value of p = 0.920 (p < 0.05) then Ha is rejected. The large influence of peer conformity on sexual-deviation with a significance value of p = 0.776 (p < 0.05) then Ha is rejected. The large influence of sex education and peer conformity on sexualdeviation with a significance value of p = 0.891 (p < 0.05) then Ha is rejected. The calculated f-value < f-table (0.116 > 2.66). This means that sex education and conformity cannot be predictors of sexual-deviation.
