Abstract

This research is based on the fact that the existing partnership between teachers and parents is still diverse and not fully structured. Parental involvement in guiding children at home also varies, as evidenced by only a small number consistently filling out the learning control book. Additionally, the school's strategies in fostering partnerships require further evaluation to enhance their effectiveness. This study aims to identify the existing forms of collaboration between teachers and parents, explore strategies, and examine the supporting and inhibiting factors used by the school to strengthen this partnership. To achieve this, the study employs a qualitative research method with a field research approach to examine the partnership between teachers and parents in improving children's Quran reading skills at RA Darul Muttaqin Karimunjawa. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of transcribing, coding, grouping, comparing & contrasting, and interpreting to obtain objective conclusions. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation, which involved comparing data from various stakeholders and different collection methods to verify the research findings. The study results indicate that the partnership between teachers and parents at RA Darul Muttaqin Karimunjawa plays a crucial role in enhancing children's Quran reading skills. The forms of partnership include the use of achievement books, face-to-face meetings, WhatsApp groups, and Quran recitation (muroja’ah) activities at home. However, parental involvement remains inconsistent, influenced by inhibiting factors such as a lack of knowledge in Tajweed, limited time due to household responsibilities, and the absence of practical guidance from the school. On the other hand, parental awareness of the importance of Quran recitation, emotional closeness with their children, and teacher support serve as key supporting factors. While the partnership is fairly effective, more strategic efforts are needed, such as training for parents, the provision of practical guidelines, and improved communication to optimize parental engagement.
