Abstract

Learning media plays an important role in the learning process as a tool to convey information and increase interaction between teachers and students. However, many teachers still use simple learning media such as student worksheets, which can make children bored quickly and are very monotonous and less interesting, so that students' interest in learning decreases. Therefore, learning media should be adjusted to the needs of early childhood children. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental type, preexperiment design type one-group pretest-posttest design. The validity and reliability test of the congklak game media on the ability to recognize number concepts and arithmetic abilities was carried out by experts. The location of the study was at RA Fatimah Palembang, the study was conducted in class B1, consisting of 20 children. The results of this study indicate that the normality test data carried out on the pretest and posttest showed a normal distribution, the pretest and posttest obtained a value of 0.200> 0.05, then it was stated to be normally distributed. In the paired sample t-test for the ability to recognize the concept of numbers, the average values of the pretest and posttest were obtained, namely the pretest 23.50 and 35.35 from both data, the average posttest is known. But to ensure there is an increase after treatment, it can be seen in the paired samples test table which has sig data, 0.000, it can be concluded that in this study there was an increase and for the ability to count, the average value of the pretest and posttest was 19.10 and 20.20 from both data, the average value of the posttest is known, but to ensure there is an increase after treatment, it can be seen in the paired samples test table which has sig data, 0.00, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the traditional congklak game on children's counting ability. In the N-gain test, for the ability to recognize the concept of numbers, the pretest value was 23.5 while for the posttest value it was 35.35 and for the N-Gain value it was obtained with a value of 0.63 so it can be concluded that the ability to recognize the concept of numbers is in the effective interpretation and for the criteria it is high. While for the ability to count, the pretest value was 19.1 while for the posttest value it was 20.2 and for the N-Gain value it was obtained with a value of 0.57. so it can be concluded that the ability to count is in the effective interpretation and for its criteria is high.
