Abstract

bThe aims of this research was to isolate and identify fungi which grow on yam (Dioscorea alata L) and to develop that result as a study source for Mycology lecture. Yam were processed into chips and dried under different conditions (sun drying, oven drying, and ambient). The isolation method was done by direct plating on PDA medium. Identification was carried out on PDA medium for macroscopic and microscopic observation. The isolation result 68 isolates which consist of 5 genera (Aspergillus, Fusarium, Penicillium, Rhizopus, and Thalaromyces). The result of this research can be used as a study source in accordance with potency, the goal of study, target and information elucidation, guidance exploration, product and output useful. From this research, it was obtain that data of isolation and identification of fungi which grow on yam (Dioscorea alata L) can be used as a study source for mycology lecture.
