Abstract

Ta'aruf is an introduction process carried out by someone with the aim of getting married. The methods carried out in ta'aruf are methods that are in accordance with the commands of Allah SWT and have been exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad. In this study, the researcher explains the process used to carry out ta'aruf and the criteria for choosing a good partner when looking for a partner in the hadith of Bukhori No. 1408. This research was conducted at one of the pre-marital schools located in a mosque in the Deresan area, Condongcatur, Sleman. This research aims to provide an understanding of the meaning of ta'aruf, find out the influence of the programs at the Nurul Ashri pre-marriage school in building marriage, and also to find out the implementation of the hadith which explains the four criteria for choosing a partner in the ta'aruf program at the Nurul Ashri pre-marriage school. The theory used in this research uses living hadith theory and social action theory. Apart from that, the method used is qualitative research with data collection, interviews, documentation and observation. The results of this research explain 1). Provide an understanding of the meaning of ta'aruf. Ta'aruf is a method for choosing a partner for marriage in accordance with Islamic law. Ta'aruf gives us the freedom to get to know a partner who fits the criteria we want. 2). Providing explanations about several Nurul Ashri pre-marriage school programs which have provided a lot of material on how to become a good husband or wife, as well as procedures for managing finances and establishing harmony in the household. One of the programs that many pre-marital schools have participated in is the ta''aruf program. This program has a quite good influence in building a sakinah, mawaadah and rahmah family. 3). Explaining the implementation of a hadith at Nurul Ashri's pre-marriage school in a hadith narrated by Imam Bukhori which explains the four criteria for choosing a partner, namely choosing from beauty/handsomeness, nashab (heredity), wealth, and religion. According to this hadith, choosing a partner based on religion is a choice that must be prioritized. This was then applied at the Nurul Ashri pre-marriage school in choosing a life partner through their ta'aruf program, from implementing this hadith it was able to give someone insight into choosing a partner with guidelines based on the hadith.
