Abstract

The Israel-Palestine conflict, which has persisted for more than seven decades, is often overshadowed by media narratives and merely perceived as a religious issue, neglecting its humanitarian perspective. This has resulted in a lack of empathy within society, including among communities in Bandung. To counter these limited narratives, Wanggi Hoed utilized the Solidarity Art Movement for Palestine as a creative communication medium to foster solidarity among communities in Bandung. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method using a case study approach. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Solidarity Art Movement for Palestine, initiated by Wanggi Hoed, which includes campaigns through pantomime art and social media, serves as an effective communication tool for delivering messages of humanitarian solidarity. Persuasive communication techniques, such as association, integration, and arrangement, were employed to convey universal messages, evoke emotional responses, and encourage active participation. The effects of this communication are categorized into three aspects: cognitive effects, which improve the audience's understanding of the Palestinian issue; affective effects, which ix deepen emotional engagement; and behavioral effects, which encourage active participation in solidarity actions such as awareness campaigns and fundraising. This study reveals that pantomime art serves not only as a form of entertainment but also as an effective advocacy tool for voicing humanitarian and social justice values, emphasizing the importance of persuasive communication in fostering solidarity within a diverse society.
