Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the library in improving religious literacy at Bumi Cendekia Junior High School Yogyakarta. The research method used by researchers is descriptive qualitative research method. The data collection technique used in this study used purposive sampling with primary data obtained through observation, interviews and documentation by the sources. While data analysis is done through the process of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The informants in this study were 5 (Five) people. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the role of the library in improving religious literacy at Bumi Cendekia Junior High School Yogyakarta has played a role in improving religious literacy, where the library becomes a forum for developing religious literacy, the library is able to improve religious literacy with religious collections in it, making the center of activities in improving religious literacy, and being able to encourage reading interest for students. The library also seeks to provide digital collections with student works that have been running by launching the inaugural digital magazine which will continue, which can be accessed by students and enrich the program to encourage student literacy. In addition, the school should provide a special allocation of funds for the library to be more advanced in terms of facilities and infrastructure in order to improve the quality of the library to play an optimal role in management and provide better facilities, besides increasing the knowledge of library staff about management and OPAC operation will improve the quality of library maintenance and management.
