Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality control of wooden plaque products at CV 1Souvenir using the Six sigma method. Based on identification through Critical to Quality (CTQ), nine types of product defects were found, likely blur, roughness, poor adhesion, breakage, color issues, precision, burning, pressing defects, and material flaws. The current production quality was measured using the DPMO value and sigma level calculation, resulting in 37.528,65 DPMO and a sigma level of 3,5. This place the process in a moderate category but still below the ideal 6 sigma level. Through a Pareto diagram analysis, four dominant defects were identified blur (28,4%), roughness (19,5%), poor adhesion (16,2%), and breakage (16%). Root cause analysis using the five whys analysis method revealed that human factors are the primary cause of defects. Prioritization of errors was conducted using FMEA based on the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN). The 5W+1H method was then used as a basis for proposing improvement recommendations. The proposed improvements include developing a primer application SOP, creating a pre-production check sheet, providing visual guides and inspection cards, introducing a time buffer for the sanding process, and implementing a daily design file format check sheet. This research is expected to assist in identifying, analyzing, and providing input to address defect causes, thus helping minimize defects in wooden plaque products sustainably
