Abstract

Students with disabilities have the right to receive education like other students. In this context, the role of social support from peers is an important factor that can help students with disabilities increase their motivation to learn in order to obtain equal educational rights. This study aims to examine the relationship between Peer Social Support and Learning Motivation at the Disability Service Center of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The research method used is quantitative correlational using Shapiro Wilk calculations with saturated sample techniques on a population of 30 students with disabilities of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta aged 19-26 years and 13 male students and 17 female students. This research instrument uses a Likert scale from Sarafino's theory to measure peer social support and from Gowing's theory to measure learning motivation. The results of the study indicate a strong relationship between peer social support and learning motivation of students with disabilities as evidenced by the results of the sig. value of 0.000 (p> 0.05) with a correlation interval significance value of 0.687. Positive relationship, the higher the peer social support, the higher the learning motivation and vice versa, the lower the peer social support, the lower the learning motivation. Other factors that can affect the learning motivation of students with disabilities are parental social support and self-acceptance levels
