Abstract

UKM PSM Gita Savana is a student organization engaged in the field of choral arts, playing a significant role in developing students' vocal talents and artistic creativity. This research aims to explore the leadership communication styles adopted by the chairperson of UKM PSM Gita Savana during the 2023–2024 period. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews involving the chairperson and three active members of the organization. The findings reveal that the chairperson, Hanes, does not rely on a single, fixed communication style but rather applies multiple styles according to the needs of the organization. Specifically, Hanes tends to adopt the Middle of the Road Style, which seeks a balance between concern for people and concern for production, as well as the Task-Oriented Style, which emphasizes performance, structure, and goal achievement. These findings suggest that leadership communication is not static, but dynamic and adaptable, allowing leaders to respond effectively to changing conditions within the organization. This flexibility in communication style is a key factor in ensuring effective leadership and organizational success, especially within student-based art communities.
