Abstract
Religious moderation becomes an important key as a solution to create a peaceful and harmonious environment in diversity. This study is important to conduct because the Islamic Religious Education curriculum has a strategic role in inculcating the values of moderation comprehensively and contextually. The Islamic Religious Education curriculum is not fully able to answer the challenges on diversity and multireligiousness in Indonesia, its application and approaches are judged to be still dogmatic-conservative, theocentric-normative, the area of study narrow-static, and the doctrine taken for granted. This study was conducted with the aim of finding out how the internalization of values of religious moderation on the curriculum of Islamic Religious Education Ma’had al-Jami’ah UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau and its implications on the moderate attitude of mahasantri. This study was conducted using a qualitative method with a type of field research. In data collection, the techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis used was the Miles & Huberman model through the process of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. Test the validity of the data using data triangulation. The results of this study show that: 1) the curriculum of PAI Ma’had al-Jami’ah UIN Suska Riau is designed using the concept of integrative paradigm with the aim of producing graduates with an integral and moderate religious insight. The values of religious moderation are internalized on the components of curriculum objectives, Curriculum content/materials, curriculum learning process, curriculum learning strategies, and curriculum evaluation/assessment. 2) the values of religious moderation internalized on the curriculum of PAI Ma’had al-Jami’ah UIN Suska Riau include the values of national commitment, tolerance, anti-violence, and accommodative to local culture. 3) the implications of the internalization of the values of religious moderation in the curriculum of PAI Ma'had al-Jami'ah UIN Suska Riau towards mahasantri known from the attitude of mahasantri who have the value of tawassuth, i'tidal, tasamuh, syura, ishlah, qudwah, muwathanah, la 'unf, and i'tibar al-'urf.
