Abstract

Establishing and maintaining a marital relationship is a crucial aspect, as it serves as a preventive measure against potential negative outcomes within the household, such as divorce or separation. Therefore, marriage education is necessary as a means of preventing unfavorable events in domestic life. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has implemented a Marriage Counseling Program held at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), which aims to provide prospective couples with knowledge and preparation for marital life. On the other hand, the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) has launched a digital platform called Siap Nikah as an innovative, self-directed, and online-based premarital education initiative. Based on the above, the research questions raised are: what are the similarities and differences between the Marriage Counseling Program and the Siap Nikah platform, and how are both viewed through the lens of maṣlaḥah mursalah? This issue is examined using a qualitative descriptive method with a normative-comparative approach. This type of research is library-based, with data collected through books, magazines, official documents, newspapers, and internet sources. The research findings show that based on the theory of maṣlaḥah mursalah, the similarities between the Marriage Counseling Program and the Siap Nikah platform lie in their principles, substance, and fundamental vision. Meanwhile, the differences can be observed in terms of implementation methods, interaction, target audience, certification systems, flexibility, and accessibility.
