Abstract

Family is the smallest social unit that has a strategic role in shaping the character, morals, and welfare of society. Family resilience is an important indicator in assessing the extent to which the family is able to survive and function optimally amidst the challenges of the times, including increasing divorce rates, gender role conflicts, and economic pressures. Mental health and family spirituality also determine the sustainability and harmony of the household. In this context, this study aims to examine the application of the Q Method as a systematic and spiritually valuable approach in helping family resilience in couples of resident students who memorize the Al-Qur'an at the Shalahuddin Al Ayyubi Islamic Boarding School, Kulon Progo. This type of research is field research with a descriptive-analytical nature and a socio-normative approach. This study uses a single case study of a couple who consistently applies the Q Method in their household life. Primary data sources were obtained from direct interviews with couples, and supplemented with secondary data including books, scientific articles, journals, and laws and regulations relevant to the main problem being studied. Furthermore, the author analyzed the research results using the Family Resilience Theory and Maqashid Syari’ahto evaluate the contribution of the Q Method to family resilience from a psychosocial perspective and Islamic values. The results of this study show that the application of the Q Method supports efforts to build family resilience and is expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions in the development of a spiritual-based family resilience model and a systematic approach in Muslim society.
