Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited integration of Islamic values into biology learning and the lack of engaging learning materials that align with students' needs. These issues contribute to students' low understanding and interest in the circulatory system material. The objectives of this study are to: (1) Describe the development process of an Islamic and science-integrated biology module on the circulatory system for Grade XI students at MAN 4 Bantul; (2) Evaluate the quality of the Islamic and science-integrated biology module; and (3) Assess students’ responses to the developed module. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), although implementation was limited to the Develop stage. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The research instruments consisted of questionnaire sheets used for expert and user assessments. The module was reviewed by a content expert, a media expert, five peer reviewers, and a biology teacher. A limited trial was conducted with 15 Grade XI students at MAN 4 Bantul. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The findings show that the development of the Islamic and science-integrated biology module on the circulatory system followed the 4D model up to the Develop stage. The quality assessment indicated that the module falls into excellent category, with an ideal percentage score of 93.13%. Student responses also reflected a very positive reception, with an ideal percentage score of 85.47%. Therefore, the Islamic and science-integrated biology module on the circulatory system can be used as a biology learning resource for Grade XI students at MAN 4 Bantul.
