Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of the Darussalam Seturan Yogyakarta Mosque in empowering the community in the religious sector. The mosque is not only a place of worship, but also a center for religious activities such as recitation of the Koran, Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA), and commemoration of Islamic holidays. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that mosques have an important role in increasing people's understanding of religion and strengthening social relations between congregants. Factors that support empowerment activities include active management and financial support from infaq. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include a lack of teaching staff, inconsistent participation
