Abstract

Developing children's non-academic skills is a significant challenge, especially with the widespread use of gadgets that limits their potential. Community Reading Parks (TBM) offer an innovative solution to this problem by providing a space for self-development outside of formal education. TBM Jembatan Edukasi Siluk (JES) is a successful example that implements art programs, such as painting and dance classes, to develop a variety of children's skills. This study aims to analyze the role of TBM JES in managing art programs and their impact on children's skill development. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach to delve into the role of TBM JES and its impact in detail. Data was collected through interviews. observation, and documentation. In-depth interviews were conducted with TBM managers, instructors, students, and parents to gain diverse perspectives. Observation and documentation were used to strengthen the interview data. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that TBM JES has successfully developed children's skills through structured art programs. The role of TBM JES is not only limited to providing painting and dance classes but also as a facilitator who connects children with various parties and organizes art performances as a platform for expression. These programs significantly improve children's motor skills and emotional intelligence. In addition, children also show an increase in achievement and positive character, as well as a reduced dependence on gadgets. TBM JES has proven effective in complementing formal education and serves as a successful model for children's skill development programs.
