Abstract
Final year student-santri face various demands simultaneously, ranging from thesis preparation, responsibilities at the pesantren, organizational involvement, to work. The complexity of these roles requires effective self-management skills so that individuals can manage their time, energy, emotions, and priorities effectively. However, in practice, many final year student-santri experience physical and mental fatigue that leads to stress, procrastination, and even burnout. Therefore, it is important to examine how their self-management dynamics occur in daily life. This research aims to describe the self-management dynamics of final year student-santri who are simultaneously undertaking dual roles, namely as students and santri. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. The informants in this study consist of three final-year students, with source triangulation through interviews with each informant's close friends. The results of this study show that time management has become a major challenge due to overlapping schedules and limited energy. The strategies used include scheduling, setting priorities, self-reflection, using technology (Google Calendar), and flexibility in adjusting targets. The success of self-management is greatly influenced by emotional regulation and physical health; informants who are able to maintain sleep patterns, nutritional intake, and provide time for rest demonstrate a better balance in life and academic performance. Personal development and problem-solving are conducted through personal reflection, daily targets, discussion forums, and social support. In conclusion, the dynamics of self-management occur through a continuous adjustment process that demands a balance between personal capacity, health, and personal meaning in every activity.
