Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model or commonly called problem-based learning model is a learning model that prioritizes solving common problems that commonly occur in everyday life. This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model (PBL) on the Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) of class XII students of MA Ali Maksum Krapyak on electromagnetic induction material and to determine how much influence the Problem Based Learning Model (PBL) has in improving the Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) of class 12 students of MA Ali Maksum Krapyak on electromagnetic induction material. This study uses a quantitative research method, the research design used is a quasi-experimental design in the form of a nonequivalent control group design. The population of the study was 64 students of class XII MIPA in the 2023/2024 academic year at MA Ali Maksum Krapyak Yogyakarta. This study used the Non-Probability Sampling technique so that the samples taken were all students from the population of class XII MIPA. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) on the Electromagnetic Induction material of class XII MIPA at MA Ali Maksum Krapyak Yogyakarta shown by the results of the Wilcoxon test above obtained a significance value of Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 where the significance value is <0.05 so it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on students' Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) abilities and the results of the descriptive analysis obtained the average value of the student's pretest, namely 23.69, then increased during the posttest to 84.30. So that there is an increase in the value of student learning outcomes after learning with the Problem Based Learning model
