Abstract

The renewable energy material included in the school physics curriculum still tends to be textual and highly theoretical, which often causes students to become bored and less enthusiastic in learning. One of the contributing factors is the limited availability of diverse and visually engaging learning resources. Therefore, the development of visually appealing supplementary learning resources is necessary. This study aims to develop a digital comic integrated with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) on the LINE Webtoon platform, to evaluate the quality of the digital comic, and to examine the responses of readers toward the developed renewable energy digital comic. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D), employing the 4-D model by Thiagarajan, which consists of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. However, this research is limited only to the Develop stage, which involves validation testing, quality assessment, and a limited response test. Based on the results of the quality assessment of the STEAM-integrated renewable energy digital comic on the LINE Webtoon platform, the evaluation by subject matter experts obtained an average score of 3.67, categorized as Very Good , while the evaluation by media experts obtained an average score of 3.69, also categorized as Very Good. The results of the limited response test conducted with students yielded an average response score of 0.88, categorized as Agree. The quality assessment results indicate that the digital comic meets the standards of a supplementary learning resource and is well received by students
