Abstract
The potential of local macroalgae at Torohudan Beach has not yet been utilized. At MAN 2 Bantul, self-directed learning resources are still limited, relying mainly on textbooks and teacher explanations during lessons. This situation encouraged the researcher to develop a self-directed learning resource, an E-Booklet based on the diversity of macroalgae at Torohudan Beach, Gunungkidul. This study aims to identify macroalgae diversity at Torohudan Beach, to develop an E-Booklet on macroalgae diversity at the site, and to determine the quality of the E-Booklet as a self-directed learning resource. The macroalgae diversity research used a zig-zag transect method, while identification was using the profile matching method. The results of the macroalgae identification have found several species: Bryopsis plumosa, Chaetomorpha crassa, Chaetomorpha intestinalis, Boergesenia forbesii, Ulva lactuca, Ulva fasciata, Ulva flexuosa, Valoniopsis pachynema, Acrocystis nana, Gelidium crinale, Pterocladiella capillacea, and Padina minor. Based on these findings, an e-booklet was developed using the identified species as the main material. This research uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach, and the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). However, the process was limited to the development stage. The quality of the developed product was assessed using questionnaire. The quality test results show that the developed E-Booklet has an average score of 93.6% with the details as follows that the material expert gave a score of 93%, the media expert 100%, peer reviewers 93%, biology teacher 91%, and student responses reached 91%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the E-Booklet on the diversity of macroalgae at Torohudan Beach, Gunungkidul, is considered to be of excellent quality as a self-directed learning resource.
