Abstract

The landslide zone in Ungaran, Semarang, requires geophysical studies to understand the subsurface conditions that trigger landslides. This study aims to identify the relationship between magnetic anomaly and Fault Fracture Density (FFD) values in the landslide zone. The method used involves measuring the total magnetic field in the field, followed by the International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF) correction to eliminate the influence of the Earth’s main magnetic field. The data were processed into a magnetic anomaly contour map and interpreted together with FFD data to determine the distribution of fractures and faults in the rock. The research was conducted in the landslide zone and surrounding areas of Bandungan Hamlet, Kalongan, East Ungaran, with residential areas located close to the landslide zone. Magnetic field measurements were carried out at 104 survey points, covering a research area of 1.3 × 0.8 km2. The results show that the magnetic anomaly values range from 10 to 919 nT, with predominantly high magnetic anomalies observed directly in the landslide zone. The FFD values obtained range from 0.1 to 2.5 m/m2, with high values predominantly detected towards the northeast of the landslide zone. The characteistics of the area in the landslide zone have relatively stable magnetic field anomaly values with the dominant direction o the fractures heading NE – SW or Southwest to Northeast.
