Abstract

Industrial waste management is an essential aspect of supporting sustainable development. PT Centra Teknologi Indonesia, as a provider of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and 3D printing equipment, generates aluminum profile waste from cutting processes that has not been utilized optimally. Although this waste possesses strong physical properties, corrosion resistance, and market value, it is generally sold to collectors at only IDR 7,000. This research aims to develop a circular economy–based strategy for aluminum waste utilization that can increase added value while reducing negative environmental impacts. The research method includes collecting primary data through questionnaires and interviews to identify customer needs and preferences (Voice of Customer), as well as processing secondary data related to technical product specifications (Voice of Engineer). The analysis was carried out using the House of Quality (HOQ) to translate customer requirements into technical specifications that can be implemented in product design, such as aluminum-based material, easy-to-assemble structure, 3 mm hole size, 18 mm thickness, 10-gram weight, rust resistance, and fracture resistance. The House of Quality (HOQ) analysis indicates that the “easy-to-assemble” attribute has the highest importance target value of 25.6% or first priority. In addition, a target costing approach was applied to calculate the maximum production cost that allows the company to achieve its profit targets. The calculation results show that the selling price of the bracket product is IDR 12,000. Beyond financial benefits, circular economy practices can contribute to waste reduction, environmental pollution prevention, and the creation of new market opportunities.
