Abstract

The Baiturrahman Klidon Mosque has experienced interesting dynamics in the last few decades. Initially, this mosque was a Muhammadiyah mosque which stood in an area of diverse mass organizations. This mosque is currently being renovated by the Yayasan Amalbakti Muslim Pancasila (YAMP). YAMP had an impact on this mosque because of the Pancasila foundation it used, causing this mosque to experience a change in management status. Even though YAMP has renovated it, the community perceives that there is a tendency from a mass organization and also considers that this mosque belongs to the foundation and not to the community. Therefore, researchers are interested in studying the dynamics of this mosque and writing it in the form of a historical thesis. This research aims to explain the history of the Baiturrahman Mosque from time to time due to changes in management status. Apart from that, this research was written to break the community's perspective on the tendencies of mass organizations in this mosque. This research was written in the form of historical research with the title History of the Baiturrahman Mosque in Klidon Sukoharjo Sleman Yogyakarta (1978-2011). This research was assisted by a sociological approach, the concept of social dynamics, and Auguscomte's theory of evolution. Apart from that, Sarwono's role theory was also adopted to assist researchers in analyzing the role of each mass organization. The method used in this research is a historical research method which includes heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography with primary source collection techniques in the form of interviews and archival studies which are then complemented by secondary sources in the form of literature studies. The research results show that the Baiturrahman Mosque in Klidon in 1978, its construction was initiated by PCM (Pengurus Cabang Muhammadiyah) Ngaglik and PRM (Pengurus Ranting Muhammadiyah) Sukoharjo in an area with a diversity of mass organizations. In the following period, this mosque was inaugurated as the Sukoharjo Jami' Mosque to unite Muhammadiyah with NU in this region. In 2001, this mosque officially became the YAMP mosque so that the values of Pancasila began to be implemented. Since the values of Pancasila were implemented, this mosque is not only used by NU and Muhammadiyah, but all mass organizations can use this mosque as long as the ideology presented does not conflict with Pancasila.
