Abstract

This research aims to find out how the implementation of archive management is carried out at the Sanata Dharma University Library, which includes acquisition, archive processing, archive preservation, archive utilization and services, and archive development in the university environment, also to knowing the various obstacles faced in archive management. This research is also expected to be an evaluation for future archive management. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. Data collection was carried out using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques were carried out by data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the acquisition and archives development in the university environment was in accordance with the Sanata Dharma University Archives Management Procedure. Archive processing is in accordance with the procedure; it just doesn't have a special room for archive storage and does not have an archivist who manages the archives. Archive preservation has almost all been carried out according to procedures, but Sanata Dharma University Library has not carried out periodic physical control of archives in the form of encapsulation, lamination, fumigation, and archive sterilization. Archival utilization and services have been carried out according to procedures, except for the physical duplication of archives. The obstacles faced include human resources, facilities and infrastructure, storage space, and the lack of an archival information system.
