Abstract

This study aims to understand and describe disaster mitigation procedures in archive protection at the Library and Archives Office of Bantul Regency. The type of research conducted is descriptive qualitative using purposive sampling technique as determining informant criteria. The research method to collect data by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis method in this study is based on Miles and Huberman's theory, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, and refers to the five SOP indicators according to Ariani Ade Rohmah. Meanwhile, data validity was carried out by triangulating sources, techniques, time, and membercheck. The results showed that the mitigation procedures carried out to protect archives from disasters only have standard operating procedures related to fire disasters and do not yet have other disaster SOPs, these SOPs can be said to be quite good considering the existing SOP indicators. The obstacles experienced are related to limited infrastructure and the frequency of reviewing SOPs that have not been carried out regularly at least once a year.
