Abstract

Subjective well-being is a subjective evaluation conducted by an individual towards his/her life, both cognitively and affectively. Resilience is an individual's ability to face, adapt, and recover from stress, trauma, or life's difficulties. Resilience is needed to improve an individual's subjective well-being. This study aims to determine the relationship between resilience and subjective well-being in students who are working on their thesis. This study uses a quantitative correlational approach with 102 respondents, male/female students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, selected using non-probability sampling, a type of convenience sampling. The data collection method uses a resilience scale and a subjective well-being scale. The data analysis technique uses a correlation test analyzed using jamovi software version 2.6.26. The results of the study indicate a positive and significant relationship between resilience and subjective well-being in students working on their theses, with a correlation coefficient of 0.551 (p < 0.05) and an R-square of 0.304, indicating that resilience contributes 30.4% to the level of subjective well-being in students working on their theses. This study shows that resilience plays a significant role in improving the subjective well-being of students working on their theses. The higher the resilience level, the higher the subjective well-being of students working on their theses. The results of this study can be used as a basis for developing intervention programs aimed at improving resilience and subjective well-being in students working on their theses.
