Abstract

This study examines the relationship between fathers' involvement in parenting and the confidence of children aged 4-6 years at Madukismo Kindergarten, Kasihan District, Bantul. Children's confidence is one of the important things in a child's life. Therefore, it is important to form children's confidence from an early age. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between fathers' involvement in parenting and the self-confidence of children aged 4-6 years. Using a quantitative method with a correlational design, this study involved as many as 44 fathers who had children aged 4-6 years. Data was collected through a questionnaire with a likert scale to measure fathers' involvement in parenting and child confidence. Based on the results of the spearman test, there was no relationship between the father's involvement in parenting and the child's confidence. This is indicated by a p value of 0.843 which is greater than the significance level of 0.05. However, it should be noted that in this study, the involvement of fathers in parenting is not entirely the main factor in shaping children's confidence, there are other factors. These findings underline the importance of considering other factors such as parenting, social environment, school environment and children's experiences.
