Abstract

Bundengan is a traditional musical instrument and cultural heritage of Indonesia that must be protected and preserved. The decline in the number of Bundengan instruments and the threat of extinction have raised concerns that this musical instrument may disappear or be claimed by other parties. Therefore, appropriate measures are needed to preserve Bundengan. A communication planning model is one of the efforts that can be undertaken by the Wonosobo Regency Tourism and Culture Office (Disparbud Wonosobo) to address issues related to the Bundengan. This study aims to analyze and apply the Five-Step Communication Planning Model (Research, Planning, Implementation, Measurement/Evaluation, and Reporting). This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The results of the study indicate that the communication planning model applied by Disparbud Wonosobo to promote Bundengan involves various efforts such as local events, collaboration with various parties, and the creation of educational and informative content on social media and print media channels.
